Sombat Simla is one of the greatest living players of the khene, a mouth organ from Southeast Asia. A public figure in Molam music—a folk music genre from Thailand and Laos—the artist perpetuates a traditional practice while experimenting with new musical processes to produce an impressive variety of timbres.

Music for piano and keyboard

In partnership with the Fondation BNP Paribas, Le Lieu Unique, the centre for contemporary culture in Nantes, is organising an annual festival of experimental music based around the piano and keyboards: Variations. For 10 years now, the Variations festival has been exploring the keyboard in all its forms, particularly the most experimental ones. For 10 years, at Le Lieu Unique and more broadly in Nantes, the festival has been welcoming the cream of the international musical avant-garde. Timetable
