Madeleine Fournier
Passionate about folk dance, Madeleine Fournier delivers a surprisingly modern version of Branle. Originating in the Berry region of France, this powerfully vital, even erotic dance is performed without physical contact. Surrounded by the audience, the six performers in their multicoloured outfits interpret this old-fashioned round dance, while bringing a freshness to it. They come together and then move away from each other, revealing feelings and gestures that have been buried. An invisible inner life which reveals a collective unconscious.
