Conceived in 1974 by Luciano Berio, A-Ronne is a sound documentary, a collage incorporating extracts from texts such as the Bible, The Divine Comedy, Faust and The Communist Manifesto. In this “theatre of the ears”, the audience, wearing headphones, wanders between the performers. The narration is supplanted by the language itself: the voices appear and disappear, creating an unexpected listening space that is both individual and collective. The piece is accompanied by an electro-acoustic prologue composed by Sébastien Roux.
