préLUdes #2 : one famous play of the classical repertoire played and commented
The Orchestre national des Pays de la Loire and le lieu unique have created a new event called préLUdes: a thematic night where listeners discover the classical repertoire through contemporary performers. Energetic and brazen French radio host Clément Lebrun will be the master of ceremonies, offering ways to interpret the work.
This second préLUdes features a performance of Prokoviev’s Romeo and Juliet: one of the greatest, most heroic and tragic love stories in literary history.
All of the orchestra’s 90 musicians will be on stage alongside iconoclastic MC and mediator Clément Lebrun. Although initially written as a ballet, Prokoviev’s work has since been adapted into suites for orchestras that are often loved for their melodic inspiration, their rhythmic variety and the memorable character of their main themes.
