Music for 18 musicians is an iconic piece that made Steve Reich, a pioneer of minimalist music, a household name. The piece enabled him to put into practice the technique of phase shifting, whereby musical motifs gradually go in and out of time so as to achieve a form of trance. The ensemble Links, a collective of musicians and visual artists led by percussionist Rémi Durupt, presents a personal vision of this cult work.
