ECHO is a meditation on exile and resistance. Iranian playwright Nassim Soleimanpour, who is prevented from travelling with his plays, invites a performer to take his place on stage to read a text that they discover live on stage. Without rehearsal or preparation, the performer embarks on a journey through the story of the playwright who, connected live from Berlin, shares instructions through an earpiece. Clever staging and improvisational games shake up notions of time, space, borders, and homeland.
