Can a song bring together an entire society? By way of answer, Miet Warlop assembles a troupe of musicians spread out across the equipment in what looks like a 1980s gym. A violinist on a beam, a singer on a treadmill, a double bassist doing sit-ups: they all sing the same song over and over, endlessly, to exhaustion. Somewhere between an artistic performance and a concert, this piece creates a true micro-society.
