Joris Mathieu is back with an adaptation of E. T. A. Hoffmann’s tale, The Sandman. A fantastical journey, somewhere between a fairy tale and a visual experience, where childhood fears gradually shatter reality. The hero, Nathanaël, has never forgotten the story he was told as a child. That of a creature that would come at night to steal eyes. Now an adult, he hunts for signs of it, convinced that fiction has become real. The sense of time wavers and uncertainty sets in. What Nathanaël sees merges with what he imagines.
