Emma Dante

Wandering the narrow, poverty-stricken streets of her native Palermo, Emma Dante brings to the stage the daily lives of three prostitutes filled with maternal love and a resilient capacity to love. They have taken Arturo, a young disabled orphan, under their wings, but as time goes by and he grows up, a decision is made that will turn the daily lives of this unfortunate bunch upside down.
