Un jour sans vent examines the paradox of democracy, the cement of a society built on foundations often laid at women’s expense. Inspired by Aeschylus’s tragedy, Das Plateau revives the spectres of a founding story—Iphigenia, the sacrificial child, and Clytemnestra, the woman of power who became monstrous—giving them a contemporary form. Petrified statues, strings, one-way mirrors... In this funeral dirge, their voices burst into flame. Das Plateau conjures up poetry where politics falters.
