A whimsical and nocturnal stroll through 20^th century music… a concert that reaches up to touch the sky and stars, that can be heard sitting or lying down. After the soft strings of Barber’s famed Adagio, Sascha Goetzel (Musical Director of ONPL) explores the gardens of Japanese composer Toru Takemitsu and questions the mystery of our existence with Charles Ives’ The Unanswered Question. This poetic promenade ends with Schoenberg’s shivering Verklärte Nacht, which heralds the end of Romanticism.
