The Goldberg Variations, BWV 988

Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker

Since her first pieces in the early 80s, Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker has established herself as one of the greatest figures in contemporary dance. From Steve Reich to John Coltrane, by way of Brian Eno, music has always formed the bedrock for her research and experimentation. For this piece, she continues her exploration through the music of Bach.

Accompanied on the piano by young prodigy Pavel Kolesnikov, this choreographer-dancer probes the essence of her artform through this virtuoso yet delicate solo performance.
