There is a sort of artisanal virtuosity in the way Keren Ann composes her songs, which is clearly inspired by the great musical storytellers like Leonard Cohen or Nick Drake. This is because Keren Ann handles poetry with finesse and mixes in elements of her own life with disarming simplicity – in both English and French – without actually revealing herself. Over the course of her roughly twelve albums, she has established her unique savoir-faire, steering between the torpor of soul music and the asceticism of folk. For her concert at le lieu unique, Keren Ann will be accompanied by the Quatuor Debussy.
