Helena Tulve et l’Ensemble Utopik

Nantes ensemble Utopik invites Estonian composer Helena Tulve and offers a rare occasion to discover the music of this young composer, who was the student of both Erkki-Sven Tüür and Jacques Charpentier and who took classes with György Ligeti and Marco Stroppa before finally studying electroacoustic music at Ircam. Helena Tulve’s compositions, more often than not intended for chamber music groups, contains a wide spectrum of influences ranging from spectral music to Gregorian chant by way of experimentalism and Middle-Eastern music (orientale).
