Ensemble Links plays Steve Reich
Music for Mallet Instruments, Voices and Organs / Four Organs / New York Counterpoint
French collective Links takes on a major work by Steve Reich, the godfather of minimalist music. After Music for 18 Musicians – another of Reich’s emblematic works – the ensemble takes on Drumming:a piece for percussion and voice. Although they remain faithful to the original version, they will add a new element: the thirteen musicians spread out throughout the theatre, and the audience moves about in a ballet modifying how the sound is heard according to their location.
