Olivia Grandville has created a dance-laboratory. After reappropriating the elastic topography of a skate park, she transformed it into a modular playground in which artists can experiment is open to the public. With an identical set of specifications, each choreographer, dancer, or visual artist invited by Grandville can use the space however they see fit, offering audiences a rare experience and an invitation into their worlds. A very simple, flexible pricing system allows every participant to build their own programme and – through their discovery of renowned artists every week – raises the curtain on le lieu unique’s associated choreographer’s approach to contemporary dance.
