Cyril Teste
The Seagull
Masterfully mixing live and video art, Cyril Teste takes on Chekhov’s The Seagull. By filming his actor’s faces as closely as possible, chiselling silhouettes through a play of light and shadow, and ever-so-slightly shifting the focus towards the intimate, he sketches a cinematic saga – a fatal circle dance that swallows up people and souls. An uncompromising theatrical mise en abyme.
