Clédat & Petitpierre
Les Merveilles (“The Wonders”)
In the Middle Ages, there was no clearly defined line between the real and the imaginary, which is why historian and medievalist Jacques le Goff speaks of “material” vs. “imaginary reality”. French visual artist and director duo Clédat & Petitpierre have taken this theory and composed a chimerical world populated by fascinating medieval creatures that live in a plastic, sculptural and sonic biotope, creating a poetic backdrop to a journey into our ancestors’ little-explored imagination.
