Even though, in his musical pantheon, we might cross paths with Steve Reich, Herbie Hancock and Chick Corea, Chassol has been able to free himself from these influences to create a sound of his own, identifiable among thousands. His projects, Indiamore, Big Sun and Nola Chérie use a process of vocal harmonization that blurs the perception of images and disturbs its documentary aspect in order to bring a dose of poetry and mystery. Ludi pairs original images and Chassol’s music, accompanied by percussionist Mathieu Edward’s drumming in this eye-opening narrative play.
