Japanese theatre company Bird Theatre presents a new production of Hanjo and Lady Aoi by landmark writer and poet Yukio Mishima. Hanjo tells the whimsical love story of a young woman who goes mad with waiting for her fiancé’s return. Lady Aoi is an adaptation of The Tale of Genji: a tragic, passionate story about a man and two women, revealing the dark side of the human mind where jealousy, enchantment, and destruction dwell.
