Art Ensemble of Chicago
50th Anniversary
2019 marks the 50th anniversary of one of the last century’s most influential jazz groups: The Art Ensemble of Chicago. These exuberant pioneers, known for their fusion of jazz and African music, head back down the trail blazed by Roscoe Mitchell and Famoudou Don Moye. This concert is an opportunity to return once more to the trance of “great black music”, from jazz to soul by way of free jazz.
